The Villa

The villa was built in 1855 on a project approved by mayor and botanist Muzio de' Tommasini on behalf of Eufrosina Buchler. Over time it passed through several owners, including the Carniel family and later the family of Francesco Trevisani, husband of Fausta Veneziani, from whom the house takes its name.

Family stories say that Italo Svevo and Livia Veneziani also stayed here temporarily while work was being carried out on their own residence. In 1928 the villa was enlarged to a design by architect Geiringer.

The Tracanelli family acquired Villa Fausta in 1999 and carried out extensive conservation work. Today it preserves the atmosphere of a historic Trieste home with the rare advantage of a large private park close to the city.
